Jack Box is an interactive, modern and mostly unique form of group play. We played Murder House Party which takes the contenders through a series of trivia questions and then “murders” the players that fail to answer the question correctly. The person who answers incorrectly has different forms of surviving. One of the ways the losing players can survive is through a prisoner’s dilemma which is one of the many different mechanics of the game. In this game, the audience has an opportunity to participate in the trivia questions and also has an opportunity to steal a win at the end of the game, if they can collaborate and beat out the last person that is alive. As for my experience, I found this game to be enjoyable because it allowed people to collaborate and share some good laughs.

The Devil and the Details

The game above is a game called Devil and the Details. The main mechanic of this game is simultaneous action selection. Eight players are working together to complete the most tasks within the given time frame and it is chaotic and hilarious. As part of the audience, you can cause further chaos by playing the cat and disrupting the players by adding more work.
